Dak Prescott has been in a bit of a slump during these past five weeks as the Cowboys look to close out the regular season.

During their two-game win streak, Prescott and the offense have not moved the ball consistently.

Hopefully, Dak can fix his footwork, mechanics, and mental aspects before the playoffs as the team will need him to be at his best.

Here are a few ways Dak can get himself back on track for a big run.

Use more play action and rollouts

One thing for sure that has affected the offense from attacking defenses has been the lack of creative play calling.

Kellen Moore has not done well with play designs much like we saw during these first seven games.

Since then, the running game has suffered and teams have figured out ways to play their coverages against the Cowboys.

Dak has not been able to counter opposing defenses, which has made the offense one-dimensional.

Moore needs to get back to using Prescott on play-action and rollout throws, which allows him to be at his best.

Not much creativity has been on display, which has limited Dak in his playmaking ability.

If they want to get back on track, Moore and Dak will need to get on the same page.

Using his legs to extend drives

Since his calf injury, Dak has not attempted to scramble or use his legs to extend drives.

Instead, he has relied on his arm, which teams have been able to take advantage of, especially on third-down plays.

Prescott said in his press conference that he is fully healthy and his calf has had no impact on his recent slump.

If that is the case, how come he is hesitant when the play breaks down, and he has to scramble outside the pocket?

That leads to believe his struggles are more mental than physical, which most critics thought the latter.

Dak knows he will need to trust the coaching staff, teammates, and most of all himself if he wants to get out of this funk.

Dallas currently sits at 9-4 and looks to extend that record to 10 wins if he can defeat another division foe.

All of the leadership, talent, and playmaking ability are all there for Prescott, it will all come down to him trusting those skills to rise back to the top.

Trust his offensive line

Since the loss to the Denver Broncos, the offensive line had its share of shifting which has caused communication issues.

With Tyron Smith missing his 4th game, swing tackle Terrence Steele will once again step in the starting role.

LG Connor Williams will regain his starting position as he was benched last month due to his numerous penalties.

With the recent changes, Dak has been affected as it disrupts the continuity and communication with the offense.

If they can somehow overcome their recent issues, the entire offense will be able to flow again.

They will face off against their bitter rivals New York Giants who are dealing with numerous injuries of their own.

Cowboys will have chances to finish out the regular season strong against Washington, Arizona, and Philadelphia.
