Much of the NFL world is focused on where Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson will play next season; however, he may not be the only star Texans player that could be on the move.

Veteran defender and Houston Texans star JJ Watt may have already played his last game for the franchise that drafted him. Ian Rapoport and James Palmer reported the news on Saturday morning:

Watt playing for a new team in a different city certainly makes some sense. The Texans hired a 65-year-old first-time head coach and are expected to trade their franchise quarterback. Allowing Watt to play elsewhere is probably in the best interest of both parties.

Dallas Cowboys should be interested in acquiring JJ Watt.

With Watt likely suiting up for a different franchise in 2021, the Dallas Cowboys should certainly be interested in adding him to the roster. The Cowboys have needs all over the defense and could definitely use an established defensive end opposite of DeMarcus Lawrence.

The 2011 first-round draft selection is entering the final year of the six-year, $100 million contract extension that he signed back in 2014. There will likely be a number of different teams interested in making a move for Watt with the Texans heading towards a rebuild.

Dallas would be smart to gauge what it would take to bring Watt to Dallas, assuming the Texans don't just outright cut a player that has been the face of their franchise for such a long time.

NFL Draft insider Matt Miller listed the Cowboys as the second best fit for the 32-year-old star pass rusher. He would be able to stay in the state that he has spent his entire career in, and he would help elevate a defense to pair with an already explosive offense.

I wouldn't expect the Cowboys to win a bidding war for Watt if he does hit the free agency market, but Dallas could offer a couple of day-three picks for the future Hall of Famer, thanks to the compensatory selections that they are likely to receive.

JJ Watt landing with the Dallas Cowboys probably isn't the most likely scenario, but it is a ton of fun to think about. The expectation is that Dak Prescott will be back, so the offense will once again be among the league's best. Adding Watt would go a long way in improving the other side of the ball.
