Iamaleava has already been practicing with the team, so the announcement was just a formality on National Signing Day.
Cooper Petagna, a national recruiting analyst for 247Sports, made quite a statement about Iamaleava on 247Sports' live signing day show on Wednesday.
Petagna picked Iamaleava as his future Heisman winner from the 2023 recruiting class.
That's a huge prediction for Iamaleava — especially since the 2023 signing class includes Arch Manning, the nephew of Vols legend Peyton Manning and the No. 1 overall rated 2023 recruit (Iamaleava was rated as the No. 2 overall player).
There's going to be a ton of pressure on Iamaleava to perform at a high level. But the good news for Tennessee fans is that so far, it appears that Nico has the right mindset to handle the intense pressure to be elite that he'll face in the SEC.
Obviously, we don't know how Iamaleava's time with the Vols will play out, but I think fans should be confident that he has what it takes to deliver on the hype.
