The Tennessee Vols baseball team ruffled some feathers in Gainesville this weekend by sweeping Florida and then proceeding to mock the Gators by wearing UF helmets in an Instagram video.

On Monday, Tennessee football coach Josh Heupel appeared on WNML's Josh and Swain and he was asked about he felt about UT baseball players "mocking" the Gators.

And Heupel had a response that I'm sure most Vols fans will love.

"I hope they took a crayon and drew all over [the Florida helmets]," said Heupel. "[It] doesn't matter to me. They can do whatever they want to in Gainesville — they walked away with the sweep. I'm so excited about what our baseball team's doing. When it's going well on a college campus athletically, your brand and your logo is in front of people 365 days out of the year…it's a great time to be at Tennessee."

"Success breeds success," added Heupel.

It's clear that Heupel doesn't care much for Florida. Though can you imagine if Tennessee players would've actually taken a crayon to the Florida helmets? Gators fans would be pretty fired up about that. But I think Vols fans would've loved it, too.

Intense rivalries are what the SEC is all about. Tennessee, however, needs to start beating Florida in football again to make the rivalry relevant to the outcome of the SEC East.

Heupel's squad should have a good shot at beating the Gators in Knoxville in 2022. But if they don't, then Tennessee needs to be prepared for a rebuttal from Florida over the helmet incident from this past weekend.
