The Dallas Mavericks care about the community, and they care about their fans.

And as proof of that, the Mavs Foundation will provide grants totaling $150,000 from their COVID-19 Relief Fund in support of vaccine education and increased access for all people.

The grant will support programs that uplift homebound seniors, youth vaccination, and education and support for Black and Latinx communities.

"We are almost there. We have made such huge progress in the fight against COVID, but we need to finish strong and end this pandemic," Katie Edwards, President of the Mavs Foundation, said in the statement. "We hope these funds help close the gap and encourage those who might be hesitant or unable to get vaccinated to do so."

The recommended recipients for the grants listed on the press release:

Immunization Collaboration of Tarrant County – Vaccination education with an emphasis on youth vaccination.

Visiting Nurse Association – Vaccine education and administration to homebound seniors.

Healing Hands Ministries – Vaccine education and administration to hesitant populations, primarily Black, LatinX immigrants, and resettled refugees.

The Concilio – Vaccine education and support for the LatinX community.

The Mavs Foundation remains committed to securing and uplift the communities it works in and with. Now with the end of the pandemic insight, this is just the latest step to ensure safety from families within the Mavs community.
