With the season over the Chiefs will now dive into the off-season and begin the process of free agency. The question for Kansas City now becomes, "who deserves to get paid?"

With an already stacked lineup as is, this decision will be key in preparation for next season. Multiple players showed worthiness of resigning while others, not so much.

This offseason is more important than others as Kansas City looks to reach its third Super Bowl in four years.

Free Agents the Chiefs should re-sign

Bashaud Breeland: CB

The 28-year old cornerback out of Clemson has proven himself to be an elite cornerback. Breeland not only showed improvement this season but also developed a strong relationship with the coaching staff and fellow teammates.

His progression from previous seasons to now is apparent, where he made massive improvements in coverage this year.

Last season, Breeland earned just a 43.9 coverage grade and was penalized more than any cornerback in the league at 12 times.

This season, he earned a 72.9 coverage grade and did not give up as many big plays averaging over five fewer yards per reception to receivers.

He is a clear-cut candidate for Chiefs' most improved player where this season and was seen locking down some of the NFL's top receivers including Stefon Diggs in the AFC Championship.

Darrel Williams: RB

Williams ran the ball very effectively when Clyde Edwards-Helaire went down with a hip injury in week 15. He did exactly what an RB2 needs to do when the bell-cow goes down, step up.

Williams averaged 4.9 yards per carry and 58 yards per game in his 3 games started. He also managed to find the endzone twice this season

While these aren't jaw-dropping numbers, he ran the ball hard at every given opportunity and proved he can be the guy if Clyde were to go down again.

Daniel Sorensen: FS

Dirty Dan has earned a name for himself. This season he was a leader on the defensive side of the football and plays with discipline.

All season, as well as last, Sorensen was seen making big-time plays in clutch situations. There was the huge 4th down stop in the divisional round against Houston last year, as well as the forced fumble out of the end-zone against Cleveland in January.

It would be a shame to let Dirty Dan walk not only because he is loved by the coaching staff and teammates but also because of his playmaking ability.

Who the Chiefs Should Let Walk

Le'veon Bell: RB

Yes, he is a big name, but this guy really has not performed well in years. It was first seen when he left Pittsburgh to join the Jets and now has carried over into Kansas City.

Although he found the end zone once as a running back and once as a receiver, Bell was not a key to the success of this offense this season.

Bell was not utilized often and does not appear to be in the future as he did not record a snap in the Super Bowl. When he did play, he was not very effective, averaging just 3.9 yards per carry on the year.

His stock is not near what it used to be, and neither is his play on the field.

Kansas City is loaded at the running back position and there is no need to keep Bell around drooling for the ring he so wants.

Andrew Wylie: OT

Wylie had a chance to prove himself against Tampa Bay and failed to do so. I am not blaming the Chiefs' loss or offensive line problems on him by any means, but he struggled immensely.

In the Super Bowl, he allowed Shaq Barrett to record a sack as well as four quarterback hits. Wylie also was the cause of nine of Mahomes' QB pressures.

Wylie has not shined whatsoever in his three-year tenure with Kansas City and it may be time to let him walk.

The Chiefs' main focus needs to be repairing the offensive line this off-season and it could start with Wylie.
