The Tennessee Titans have made the playoffs three years in a row and they're coming off two straight AFC South division titles.

Tennessee was also the No. 1 seed in the AFC this past season.

With the Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars both acting like dysfunctional franchises, and the Indianapolis Colts rolling with their third starting quarterback in three years, it feels like the Titans are the most likely bet to repeat as AFC South division champions, right?

Not according to NFL Network's Total Access.

The popular daily NFL show predicted who will make the AFC Playoffs this season and not only do they have the Colts winning the AFC South, but they also have the Titans not even making the playoffs.

Here are their seven AFC playoff teams.

  1. Buffalo Bills
  2. Cleveland Browns
  3. Indianapolis Colts
  4. Kansas City Chiefs
  5. Los Angeles Chargers
  6. Miami Dolphins
  7. Cincinnati Bengals

This certainly seems like a bold prediction. And I'm not sure what the thinking is here. The Titans have been the class of the AFC South for the last couple of years. And there's no reason to expect any different in 2022. The Titans haven't suffered any major losses from their roster (except wide receiver Julio Jones, who barely contributed in 2021). Plus, star running back Derrick Henry, who missed a significant amount of time last season, should be 100 percent this season.

NFL analysts often like to get creative with their predictions instead of just going with what makes sense. And it seems like no matter what the Titans do, they never receive any respect from the national media.

I'm starting to think even a Titans Super Bowl victory would be discounted by the national media…
