Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was asked before the Super Bowl what advice he'd give to young athletes.
Burrow said he'd tell young athletes not to brag about their workouts on social media.
"Don't have a workout and go post it on Instagram the next day…work in silence, don't show everybody what you're doing," said Burrow. "Let your game on Friday nights, Saturday nights, and Sunday nights show all the hard work you put in."
That advice was immediately shared to a litany of social media accounts that focus on youth athletics.
And for good reason — it's great advice. Work hard and let the results speak for themselves.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Carson Wentz apparently didn't hear Burrow's advice.
Wentz, who has been the subject of trade rumors this offseason, took to Instagram this week to brag about his offseason workouts.
So much for working in silence.
Wentz should probably take Burrow's advice. No one cares what's posted on social — it's all about results. And if Wentz had delivered better results for the Colts this past season, he wouldn't find himself on the chopping block this offseason.
