On Monday, it sounded like the Cincinnati Bengals would be without linebacker Logan Wilson for a significant time. That might be changing already as head coach Zac Taylor confirmed on Wednesday.

In a press conference, Taylor refused to rule out the linebacker for the Bengals' Week 7 game versus the Atlanta Falcons. "That's really good news," said the head coach.

Wilson is considered to be "day-to-day," an upgrade over the original "week-to-week" label put on him at the start of the week. The linebacker suffered a shoulder injury, which is a significant concern considering he had offseason surgery this very year.

Despite this being Joe Burrow's team, Wilson's injury shouldn't be taken lightly. The Bengals have the ninth-best defense in the NFL per Football Outsiders' DVOA metric. The linebacker leads the team in defensive stops (17) and has the highest PFF tackling grade on the team.

In coverage, Wilson has a pass breakup and an interception. All of that while wearing that super important green dot on his helmet used to designate the player that has comms with the coaching staff.

The Bengals are also getting some additional depth in the linebacker room in the form of Joe Bachie. The third-year pro arrived at Cincinnati in 2021 and played nine games totaling 30 tackles.

This next three-game stretch is a chance for the Bengals to improve their position in the AFC North standings as they face very beatable opponents.

Having Logan Wilson back as soon as possible would go a long way to start a winning streak in Cincinnati. Get ready for a full week of monitoring his status on the injury report.
