One of the Tennessee Titans' biggest moves this offseason was trading a sixth-round pick the Los Angeles Rams for wide receiver Robert Woods.

Woods was an important player for the Rams, but he was expendable due to Los Angeles signing wide receiver Allen Robinson.

The former USC standout is also recovering from a torn ACL and it's unclear if he'll be ready for the start of the 2022 season (Woods said on Wednesday that his recovery is on track, but declined to provide a target return date).

Longtime NFL analyst Greg Cosell, of NFL Films, spoke to 104.5 The Zone's Buck Reising this week about Woods and he explained what makes the veteran wide receiver such a good fit for the Titans.

"The nuance, the detail, the subtlety with which he plays," said Cosell. "He understands the receiver position, he understands how to run routes, how to attack corners, he understands how to find voids in zone [coverage]. It's all there on the tape."

"And the effort he gives as a blocker in the run game. No one would say he's a top-three receiver in the league because he's not a vertical dimension — we don't think of Robert Woods and immediately think of big, explosive plays like we do with some other receivers who tend to be in that category. But he's just so efficient in everything he does and my guess is that he will really bring a lot to this team (the Titans) just in terms of attitude, approach…the right way to go about doing things."

Woods ended up in Nashville via trade, but this was almost like a free-agent deal. The Rams basically let Woods choose his destination. And he chose the Titans because he felt it was a good fit. And the Titans chose him back.

This trade didn't receive nearly as much attention as Tennessee's trade for Julio Jones last summer, but it could end up being a much more fruitful trade for the Titans.
