Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow made a popular NFL personality look like a complete fool this past weekend.
During the Bengals' win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Burrow suffered an injury to his pinkie finger (on his throwing hand) that required medical attention on the sideline.
CBS broadcaster Tony Romo, a former Dallas Cowboys QB that has become a fan favorite since his transition to the broadcast booth, appeared to throw some shade at Burrow for having his pinkie finger looked at.
"We've gotten to the point where the pinkie is a huge deal," said Romo. "I never thought I'd see the day…you got a cut on your pinkie nail and you got other guys playing through broken ribs…"
Burrow ended up not missing a snap due to the injury. And he led the Bengals to a comeback win against Tom Brady and the Bucs.
After the game, Burrow told reporters that the pinkie injury was "nothing serious".
Romo looked foolish for taking a shot at a player who didn't even miss a snap.
And he looks even more foolish considering his own injury history.
In 2008, Romo missed three games after injuring his pinkie in a game against the Arizona Cardinals.
I guess Romo has never heard the "Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house" idiom.
