The Tennessee Vols could be poised to make a huge recruiting move this weekend.
According to a report on Tuesday from On3, the Vols are expected to host 2023 five-star wide receiver Carnell Tate on a visit this weekend
Tate committed to Ohio State earlier this spring.
On3's Chad Simmons said if the visit to Tennessee happens for the Alabama game this weekend, it will be Tate's first known visit to a program other than Ohio State since committing to the Buckeyes in June.

Tate, 6-foot-2/185 lbs from Chicago (transferred to IMG Acadamy for football), is ranked in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 4 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 20 player in the 2023 recruiting class.
2023 five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava, who is committed to Tennessee, is close friends with Tate. And he's likely been chipping away at the five-star wide receiver hoping to convince him to decommit from Ohio State and commit to the Vols.
It sounds like Nico and Tennessee have given Tate a lot to think about. A Vols win against Alabama this weekend could be enough to get Tate to reopen his commitment (assuming he makes the trip to Knoxville).
There's definitely reason for concern if you're an Ohio State fan. I'm not saying for the Vols will flip Tate, but I think there's at least a 50/50 chance it happens.
