Well, specifically, Neyland Stadium received a massive compliment.
247Sports named the top nine most intimidating stadiums in the nation and they put Neyland Stadium at No. 3.
The Tennessee faithful can get downright nasty when games are competitive against quality competition in Knoxville and Neyland Stadium has a chance this season to be the site of several colossal victories for the program. The Volunteers close out September with arguably their most important game in years against Florida. Win that one, and the rivalry showdown with No. 1 Alabama a few weeks later could draw a record crowd. Tennessee has not beaten the Crimson Tide in Nick Saban's tenure by the way, so you can almost feel the excitement already if that game's close in the fourth quarter. Toss in a heated matchup with Kentucky two weeks later and this is a quality slate at home for the Volunteers.
Picking the most intimidating stadium in the nation is obviously subjective. Any of the stadiums in the top five could be interchangeable based on preference.
I'm surprised, though, at the stadiums in front of Neyland. Neither of them are SEC stadiums, which are typically regarded as the loudest stadiums in the nation.
Ohio Stadium (Ohio State) and Memorial Stadium (Clemson) are at No. 2 and No. 1, respectively.
Both of those are loud stadiums, but I would've expected to see LSU's Tiger Stadium or Texas A&M's Kyle Field at the top of the list if it wasn't Neyland. Those are two extremely loud stadiums that, along with Neyland, seem louder than any other sports stadium in the nation.
Either way, it has to be nice for Vols fans to see Neyland get some love nationally. It's certainly one of the great cathedrals in college football.
