Former Tennessee Vols assistant coach David Johnson had one of the best sports quotes of the week.

Johnson, who coached running backs and wide receivers at Tennessee for two seasons under Jeremy Pruitt, is currently the running backs coach at Florida State.

Earlier this week, Johnson was asked how he keeps six scholarship running backs happy.

And Johnson delivered a great quote that's full of wise life advice.

"It's not about keeping them happy, it's about being honest with them," said Johnson. "Everyone has a role."

"At the end of the day, we always say 'We on fries' – meaning 'just do your job.' Nothing else matters. I don't care what they're doing with shakes, or hamburgers, that has nothing to do with us."

Johnson's point is that everyone should do their job without worrying about what everyone else is doing.

If everyone followed that advice, the world would run much more efficiently.

By the way, Johnson is an interesting figure in Tennessee football history.

Johnson left Tennessee's staff after the 2019 season (his second season with Pruitt). His reasoning was that he didn't "trust" what was going on at UT. At the time, fans were confused by Johnson's comments as the Vols were coming off an 8-5 season.

Less than a year later, Tennessee was wrapped up in an NCAA recruiting investigation.

Johnson's comments were the definition of "foreshadowing".
