Tennessee Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker announced on Sunday that he's returning to Rocky Top for his final year of eligibility in 2022.
That means there are likely going to be plenty of explosive plays in store for the Vols next season.
Hooker, a North Carolina native who transferred to Tennessee from Virginia Tech, was an explosive play machine in 2021 under first-year UT head coach Josh Heupel.
The former four-star recruit led all of FBS this season with four (4!) passing plays of 70 yards or more.
To put that number in perspective, Tennessee had only two passing plays of 70 yards or more during Jeremy Pruitt's three seasons leading the Vols (Harrison Bailey and Brian Maurer accounted for those plays).
This is only the beginning for Tennessee under Heupel. If the Vols were this explosive in year one, imagine how fun this offense will be moving forward.
2022 could be an extremely fun season for UT fans with Hooker officially coming back.
