The biggest Tennessee Vols news of the week was easily five-star quarterback Nico Ialameava's decision to commit to UT.
Iamaleava is one of the top 2023 recruits in the nation and he chose the Vols over Alabama, Georgia, and Oregon.
Tennessee fans are obviously thrilled about the Vols' quarterback situation moving forward. Hendon Hooker could be a dark horse Heisman Trophy candidate in 2022 and then Iamaleava will be in town in 2023.
That's a great scenario for the Vols. Having a 5-star talent like Iamaleava follow behind Hooker is is a dream situation for Tennessee.
But there's a forgotten player in the mix that absolutely shouldn't be forgotten.
True freshman quarterback Tayven Jackson arrived at Tennessee this winter and he's the most likely option to be the Vols' starting quarterback in the 2023 season opener.
Jackson is a former four-star recruit from Indiana who was rated as the No. 13 overall quarterback in the 2022 recruiting class.

On Saturday, after Tennessee's third spring practice, Vols offensive coordinator Alex Golesh was asked what he's seen from Jackson so far this spring.
And Golesh had plenty of great things to say about the young quarterback.
"Tayven is really, really fun to watch," said Golesh. "He's a really good athlete. He's got a really quick release. He's really grasped the offense through three days, well."
"It'll be interesting when we scrimmage next week and coaches are off the field what he looks like," added Golesh. "(He's) a superb athlete, has a really good understanding and has a really quick trigger. Everything we kind of hoped he would be, he certainly has been that so far."
Golesh specifically likes Jackson's attitude on the field.
"He doesn't seem to be bothered by a whole lot," explained Golesh. "He's just kind of having fun. That kid won a ton of games in high school. He's a winner, which is exactly what you want to recruit at that spot."
Physical attributes are undoubtedly important when it comes to SEC quarterbacks. But it's that winning mindset that can truly take a quarterback's play to the next level.
Jackson has the competitiveness that it takes to be successful in the SEC. And he has the physical abilities, too.
While fans should definitely be excited about Hooker and Iamaleava, they shouldn't forget about Jackson. The Indiana native has the potential to be an absolute stud for the Vols.
