Former NFL wide receiver turned ESPN analyst Joey Galloway took a weird shot at Tennessee Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker on Wednesday.

During halftime of the Military Bowl matchup between Duke and UCF, Galloway, seemingly out of nowhere, was asked by studio host Matt Barrie who had more yards between Hooker and Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett before the Vols played the Bulldogs in early November.

"Stetson Bennett and Stetson Bennett still has more pass yards than Hooker," answered Galloway before adding an odd "let's go".

Here's a video clip of the exchange.

There is no real context for that exchange — Hooker was brought up out of nowhere. And Galloway seemed to take some weird pleasure in Bennett having more passing yards than Hooker.

Of course, no one on that set mentioned that Bennett played two more games than Hooker this season (because of Hooker's ACL injury and the SEC Championship game).

Hooker, however, passed for 285 yards per game compared to Bennett's 263 yards per game.

Bennett is a good quarterback and a good story, but Hooker was the better player all season. But for whatever reason, Galloway felt the need to take a shot at Hooker.

If you can figure out what Galloway has against Hooker, let the rest of us know. It was certainly a bizarre thing for the former Ohio State wide receiver to bring up.
