Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin went full hypocrite on Saturday night after his team's win against the Texas A&M Aggies.
After the 31-28 win in College Stadion, Kiffin spoke to reporters and he brought up the Aggies' frequent injury timeouts.
"You guys saw it, whatever it was, at one point I think it was eight defensive injury timeouts," said Kiffin. "All on defense. Whatever. It is what it is. There's no way around the rule. I'm not going to say they did it (faked injuries), but I mean damn, what are the analytics of that happening?"
"And then seeing the players like a play or two later back out there," added Kiffin.
This is rich coming from Kiffin.
If you're a Tennessee Vols fan, or if you watched the Ole Miss/Tennessee game last year, you likely remember the ridiculous amount of injuries the Rebels suffered (almost entirely on defense) during the course of the game. There's no way to know for sure if a player was faking an injury, but the injuries came at points during the game when the Vols' offense was moving the ball down the field. And several of those players came back into the game not long after they went down.
Those questionable injuries were one of the main reasons fans pelted the field with trash near the end of the Ole Miss game last season.
It's been a common theme at Ole Miss since Kiffin's arrival in Oxford.
And let's not forget that Kiffin practically threw the potential fake injuries in Tennessee's face earlier this year when the NCAA decided to not change the injury rule.
Funny, I guess Kiffin feels a bit differently about the injuries when it's happening to his offense.
It doesn't get much more hypocritical.
