Tennessee Vols legend Gus Manning was honored on Tuesday on the US House of Representatives floor by congressman Tim Burchett, who represents Tennessee's 2nd District.

Manning is a long-time fixture when it comes to Tennessee athletics. He was hired by General Robert Neyland in 1951. Manning has served in various roles at UT, including sports information director and administrative assistant and assistant, associate and senior associate athletics director.

The Knoxville native attended 71 straight Tennessee home openers until health issues forced him to miss the 2017 home opener.
