Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Josh Dobbs will start for the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night in Nashville against the Dallas Cowboys.
It will be Dobbs' first career regular season NFL start.
Dobbs is getting the start due to Ryan Tannehill's ankle injury and, presumably, the ineffectiveness of rookie Malik Willis last week against the Houston Texans.
Here's what's wild about Dobbs starting on Thursday night against Dallas:
Dobbs' last start in a non-preseason game came in the 2016 Music City Bowl when Tennessee beat Nebraska.
Talk about a full-circle moment (that was six years ago on Friday, by the way).
Titans fans will certainly be hoping to see the 2016 version of Dobbs on Thursday night against the Cowboys.
It won't be easy for Dobbs, though. Dallas has one of the best defenses in the NFL and Micah Parsons is a nightmare for quarterbacks.
Parsons is questionable, so there's a chance Dobbs will avoid seeing him. But even if Parsons isn't on the field, it'll still be a tough task against the Cowboys for the former Vols quarterback.
