The Tennessee Vols are set to take on the Clemson Tigers in the Orange Bowl on December 30 in Miami.

Clemson true freshman QB Cade Klubnik will start against the Vols. It'll be the first career start for the former five-star recruit.

Klubnik played well in the ACC Championship game against North Carolina, completing 20 of 24 passes for 279 yards and one touchdown.

The Austin, TX native spoke to reporters this week ahead of the Tigers' matchup with Tennessee and he was asked about facing the Vols' defense.

Tennessee had one of the worst pass defenses in the nation, but that didn't stop Klubnik from praising the Vols' defense.

“They’re a great defense," said Klubnik when asked about Tennessee. "I think they’re Top-40 in the nation. A lot of speed. They’ve got a lot of veterans on there. It’ll be a good matchup for us.”

The Vols had the No. 44 scoring defense (23.5 points per game) in the nation in 2022. They were No. 86 in total defense.

While Tennessee's pass defense has struggled this season, they could have a big day against Klubnik. There's no doubt that Klubnik is loaded with talent, but if the Vols can pressure the young quarterback, they could force him into some big mistakes.

And a couple of mistakes could be the difference in the matchup between these two top 10 teams.
