Tennessee Vols fans won't soon forget Hendon Hooker's Heisman Trophy snub this season.

Hooker, despite his incredible 2022 season, wasn't one of the top four vote-getters for the Heisman Trophy, which meant he didn't get to make the trip to New York for the award ceremony.

Tennessee fans tend to have an "us against the world" mentality, but when it comes to Hooker and the Heisman, there were plenty of folks in the national media who agree that the Greensboro, NC native should've been a finalist.

ESPN College GameDay host Desmond Howard, who votes for the Heisman because he's a former winner of the award, tweeted on Saturday night after USC QB Caleb Williams won the Heisman that Hooker should've been a finalist.

"How [Michigan RB Blake] Corum and Hooker did not receive enough votes to be on the stage is baffling," tweeted Howard.

The fact that Hooker wasn't a Heisman finalist was one of the biggest travesties in sports this year.

I'm not saying Hooker should've won the award — the loss to South Carolina (even though Hooker played decent) and the torn ACL ruined his chances — but he should've at least been a finalist.

It's easy to see why Tennessee fans don't think much of the Heisman Trophy these days.
