The Tennessee Vols are the best team in college baseball right now.
They also might be the most hated team in college baseball.
Tennessee is currently riding a 23 game winning streak (31-1 overall, 12-0 in the SEC). And they've had a lot of fun along the day.
Some of that fun, however, has rubbed folks the wrong way.
This moment from Tennessee first baseman Luc Lupicius from over the weekend is an example of the Vols sending baseball traditionalists into a frenzy.
The Vols are just fine with being hated. In fact, they're embracing it.
"It's fun to have a target on your back," said Vols first baseman Luc Lipcius this weekend. "You're with us or you're against us. And if you're against us then we couldn't give one heck about you. If you're with us, you're riding or dying with us."
"People haven't really liked us ever since we've been good," added Lipcius. "I think they're used to us being the people that lay down for you, but now that we're here it's ruffled some feathers. People really don't like it. I think the style of ball we play, a lot of emotion, it gets under people's skin. Let them do whatever they want, we're going to keep winning."
Go ahead and hate Tennessee for having fun on the baseball field. They don't care. If anything, it fuels them. And that's the last thing UT's opponents should want right now — because these Vols are showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
