2023 three-star defensive end Tyree Weathersby, a Tennessee Vols recruiting target, announced on Thursday that he plans to commit on Friday at 7:00 PM ET.
Weathersby, 6-foot-4/251 lbs from Douglasville, GA (New Manchester), is ranked in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 64 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 50 player in the state of Georgia.
In addition to his offer from the Vols, Weathersby also has offers from Boston College, Kentucky, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, and West Virginia, among many others.
Weathersby isn't highly rated, but he's played against some elite competition in high school down in Georgia. He also helped lead New Manchester to the ultra-competitive Georgia state playoffs in 2021 after he was named the Region 6-AAAAA Defensive Player of the Year.
Tennessee currently has 12 players committed to its 2023 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 13 in the nation. Three of those commits are from Georgia.
