Legendary college football coach Lou Holtz hasn't been a fan of the Tennessee Vols for a long time.

You might remember the time when Holtz was the head coach at South Carolina and he complained that the crowd at Neyland Stadium was too loud.

Holtz confirmed via his rankings this week that he apparently still doesn't care for the Volunteers after all these years.

According to Vols Wire's Dan Haralson, Holtz has Tennessee at No. 6 this week on his FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll ballot.

The Vols are No. 5 in the updated AP Top 25 poll, so simply having the Vols at No. 6 isn't necessarily egregious.

What's indefensible, though, is Holtz having Alabama, a team that Tennessee beat this season, at No. 5.

The Crimson Tide have two losses, one of them, as we mentioned, came against the Vols. The other loss came against LSU, a team that was blown out at home by Tennessee.

Ultimately, how Holtz feels about the Vols doesn't matter one bit. But it's still wild to see that he is holding onto a decades-old grudge (maybe he's still mad about the miracle at South Bend in 1991) — because that's clearly the reasoning behind having Alabama in front of Tennessee. Nothing else even remotely makes sense.
