The Las Vegas Raiders stunned the NFL world on Wednesday by benching quarterback Derek Carr for the final two games of the season.
Carr will step away from the team during the final weeks of the season to avoid being a distraction.
There are a couple of interesting storylines that go with this decision, but the most intriguing storyline is the impact on wide receiver Davante Adams.
Adams and Carr are incredibly close friends. In fact, Carr is the main reason that Adams left the Green Bay Packers for the Raiders.
With Carr likely on his way out of Las Vegas, it'll be interesting to see if this decision impacts Adams' status with the Raiders.
The star wide receiver spoke with reporters on Wednesday to discuss the decision.
Adams also took to Instagram to voice his feelings about Carr.
"This man gave everything he had," wrote Adams in a social media post. "The reason I'm a Raider…One of the most disciplined and loving people I know. Got my bruddas back."
If Carr is released in the offseason — and it certainly feels like that will be the case — it'll be interesting to see if Adams request a trade from Las Vegas.
