The New Orleans Saints' offense has been a bit odd this season compared to last year.

A year ago, they were built around their powerful running game. The offensive eline stayed fairly healthy, and they ran the offense through Alvin Kamara, Taysom Hill, and their depth at running back.

This year, the Saints have been really inconsistent on the ground. Their  best games have been when Andy Dalton and Taysom Hill have been able to push the ball downfield.

That being said, the Saints need to get back to their roots from last season in their matchup this week versus the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns' run defense is one of the worst in NFL history.

Accordingly, Alvin Kamara and company should have a massive game. The Saints need to take control of the ground game and control the clock.

Deshaun Watson and the Cleveland offense hasn't performed well as of late, but keeping them off of the field is still the best option. There is one other reason that the Saints should try to establish a strong running game this weekend.

The weather is going to be really rough, and throwing the ball in it could be difficult.

Hefty winds and potential snow will almost surely make the teams' passing games a bit shakier.

The Saints need to trust in Hill and Kamara and prevent the potential of multiple interceptions from Andy Dalton. Turnovers may be the biggest key to the game with the potential weather.

This is a game that the Saints must win to get back into potential contention in the NFC South. Offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr. needs to lean on his top talent in the running game.
