The Las Vegas Raiders are going to be playing in harsh conditions this week, but the Raiders' quarterback Derek Carr already knows how to prepare.

Playing in cold weather can be easy for players sometimes. Same for the rain and mud. However, when you add cold weather, like as cold as it will be on Saturday, and nearly 50 miles per hour wind gusts, it's a bit different.

Either way, Carr is ready. He knows exactly what it takes to play in games like these.

"I mean, it is what it is," Carr said. Anytime I've ever gone into one of these games, usually, if it's raining or stuff like that, you can prepare. But just cold, 90% of its mentality or probably more. You just set your mind because you know they're playing in it, you're playing in it.

"At the end of the day, you have to execute at a high level. And so for us, it's all about the execution of the football plays and trying to win the football game no matter whether it's inside, outside, whatever that is."

This Saturday, Pittsburgh isn't the only place having a cold-weather game. It's almost as if there was a freezing weather wave sweeping the country as a lot of games will have negative temperatures, or very close to it.

Pittsburgh will be around 10 degrees with very high wind gusts, but Carr isn't worried about it. It's a mentality thing, and he is obviously mentally strong.

Meanwhile, Kenny Pickett, the Steelers starting quarterback, says he's just going to get thicker thermal. Nothing wrong with getting more layers, I'm sure everyone will. However, Carr's answer to the question was much, much better, and makes it look like he is just mentally tougher. Then again, Pickett is a rookie, so we will just have to see how mentally strong he is on Christmas Eve.

It won't be easy with the weather on Saturday. Luckily for the Raiders, they have a Pro Bowl running back they can hand the ball off to in Josh Jacobs.
