As it stands, the Dallas Cowboys (8-3) are two games behind the Philadelphia Eagles (10-1) for first place in the NFC East. The two teams met in week six, in which was the last game of QB Cooper Rush before Dak Prescott's return.
Since that game, both teams are 4-1. The Cowboys are playing opponents by an average score of 34 to 18. While the Eagles are winning as well, by a margin of 32 to 24.
Both teams have only one division loss to this point, three for Philadelphia and two for Dallas. But those aren't the only opponents to worry about on their schedules.
According to CBS Sports, the Cowboys have a slightly favorable remaining schedule as opposed to their fellow NFC East opponents.
With the New York Giants and Washington Commanders each having among the toughest remaining schedules, and the Eagles with a more difficult road as well. By a slim .029 win percentage.
Broken down further, we can see just how tight these final six games will be. With Christmas Eve posing as a potential de facto NFC East Championship.
Philadelphia Eagles Remaining Schedule
Tennessee Titans (7-4)
@ New York Giants (7-4)
@ Chicago Bears (3-9)
@ Dallas Cowboys (8-3)
New Orleans Saints (4-8)
New York Giants (7-4)
Dallas Cowboys Remaining Schedule
Indianapolis Colts (4-7-1)
Houston Texans (1-9-1)
@ Jacksonville Jaguars (4-7)
Philadelphia Eagles (10-1)
@ Tennessee Titans (7-4)
@ Washington Commanders (7-5)
The Dallas Cowboys can't afford to take any remaining opponent likely. Not even the Colts whom they play next. Having beaten the Kansas City Chiefs and took the Eagles down to the wire.
Every game is a game close to repeating as NFC East Champions and getting homefield in the playoffs.
