The Philadelphia Eagles now look like the most dangerous team in the NFL. They have looked like the best team in the league for most of the season, but one player's recent commenst may scare some other NFL teams.
The Eagles beat the Packers by running the ball. Sure, they threw a few passes, some for a touchdown, but they ran the ball, and they did it effectively.
Philadelphia passed for 137 yards, which isn't great. But then you see that they rushed for 368 yards. Those two equal 500 yards of total offense.
The worst part is, that game wasn't good on in a few different areas for the Eagles. The offense scored 40, cool, but the defense gave up 30.
There is still room for improvement.
"We haven't played our best game yet this year," Sanders said after the 40-30 win over Green Bay.
And they really haven't when you think about it. Yet, they are 10-1 now and have the best record in the league.
"That's all we are trying to focus on doing each and every week, it's just play penalty-free, mistake-free, turnover-free, and just really dominate the whole game. That is our goal each and every week.
"That's what we are chasing. It's not really, you know, what we did last week we have to do this week. We are chasing greatness every week, just trying to be dominant as possible."
That statement alone should scare some NFL teams. Well, at least the ones that have to play the Eagles this season, and the ones that are expected to be in the playoffs.
This team, when they do have that perfect game, if there is one, it's going to be scary. They can score in any way they need to, rather it is on the ground or through the air.
And, when the defense is going, they can lock down and be elite against anyone.
This team's best has yet to come. But this is just a sneak peek at what the NFL will likely have to deal with for the rest of the year, and maybe years to come.
