The running game of the Dallas Cowboys has been spearheaded by Tony Pollard over the last two games, and he's done well averaging 123 yards per outing. However, the Cowboys are at their best running the ball with their two-headed monster that includes Ezekiel Elliott, who has missed the last two weeks with a knee injury.

Elliott worked diligently before the Cowboys' heartbreaking loss to the Green Bay Packers last week to get back to action, but Dallas took a cautious approach. Now, according to Elliott, he will suit up against the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday barring any setbacks.

After missing consecutive games for the first time in his seven-year career, Elliott is eager to get back to doing what he loves to do.

“It’s exciting to be back. I’m ready to go, man. It sucked being on the sideline," Elliott said on Thursday.

The former first-round pick hasn't had a bad season despite what the uneducated onlookers say. Elliott has amassed 443 yards and toted the rock at 4.1 yards per rush. Elliott's two rushing touchdowns in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions, the game in which he was injured, came after he took the hit to his knee, adding to his reputation of being a warrior.

Pollard has proven to be the more explosive of this duo, that's undeniable. However, Elliott's physical style between the tackles is the perfect change of pace, and the two of them working together keeps both guys fresh.

This season, Elliott and Pollard have combined for at least 140 yards three times, and the Cowboys are undefeated in those games. Simply put, they work beautifully as a tandem, and the Cowboys are better offensively when both are available.
