The Philadelphia Eagles are still undefeated, which feels amazing.
They are the only undefeated team in the league and are widely considered the best team in the league. Yes, there are people who think the Buffalo Bills or Kansas City Chiefs are the best, but the Eagles can be thrown in there, as well.
I think fans love hearing the phrase '5-0,' even if it comes with the baggage of having anxiety anytime your team wins a close game. The nervous feeling that comes with anytime an undefeated team almost loses, is one of the worst feelings. But hey, the next day you realize you are still undefeated, and everything is good.
While fans love hearing that, some players don't. What do I mean? Well, just listen to what star quarterback Jalen Hurts had to say about the term '5-0' being thrown around now.
"I personally, honest, I hate hearing 5-0," Hurts said. "I don't like to hear it. Because nobody wanted to mention the record when we were 2-5, nobody wanted to talk about that, so I don't want to hear it now, I don't want to hear it now. Can we come in here and control the things we can and attack every day, and just grow and climb?
"That's what matters, the process."
Hurts is one of those guys that wants you to keep the same energy, and don't switch up just because they are good now. And, he is totally right for feeling that way.
While this Philadelphia fanbase is crazy, and they showed that Sunday by showing up to Arizona, there are still a lot of people who hate this team and franchise. The same people who still don't believe in the Eagles are the same people who didn't last year, despite the playoff appearance.
Hurts has a point, and he is calling out all of the haters. If you weren't talking about this team last year when they were 2-5, don't talk about them now that they're 5-0.
What makes Hurts' comment even better, though, is he doesn't care about going undefeated. He wants to keep getting better.
And obviously, for an undefeated team, there's only one goal as the wins keep piling up: a Super Bowl trophy.
Hurts has already shown numerous times in both college and the pros that he is the epitome of a leader and someone who will do whatever it takes to get his team where it needs to go, regardless of how it affects him.
And, he's still showing it even at the current height of the Eagles' 2022 success. Which means Eagles fans shouldn't expect this train to slow down anytime soon.
