The Las Vegas Raiders are essentially back to being one of the laughingstocks of the NFL. They were when they started 2-7, and since then have gone on a three-game win streak.
Unfortunately on Thursday in Week 14, the Raiders' win streak was ended by the Los Angeles Rams.
It isn't about the fact that the win streak was ended, because that's going to happen. It's the fact of how it happened, and the storylines that led up to the events.
Before the game, a little over 48 hours ago to be exact, the Rams signed Baker Mayfield. Mayfield was cut by the Panthers due to his play, and the Rams needed a quarterback with Stafford out.
With so little time of learning the playbook, Mayfield was able to get the win in Los Angeles and prove some haters wrong.
Not only that, but he was also able to complete a 13-point comeback, which we don't see often, besides the Raiders of course.
According to ESPN Stats, the Raiders are just the fourth team ever to lose four games after having a 13-point lead. That has been one of the bigger stories of this season.
I mean, when you break it down, four, or half, of the Raiders' eight losses have come by way of them leading by 13 points in that game.
It's obvious this isn't their year to compete, so if they want to compete next season, this will definitely need to be fixed before then.
