Steelers: Cam Heyward just made an incredibly stupid mistake for all to see

I don't know what the Pittsburgh Steelers need to do to right the ship moving forward. I don't even know if they can as they sit at 1-4 through five weeks of the regular season.

But I do know Cam Heyward's actions on social media won't help one single bit. On Monday, the Steelers' superstar retweeted a fan's tweet bashing head coach Mike Tomlin.

The tweet by user @Disco198121 reads "I can't stand Tomlin and he's a fraud and clown that's been carried by Ben his entire career."

Yikes.

You can read the full post in the tweet below, which is a screenshot of Heyward's profile and the retweet in it. Heyward has since deleted the retweet from his timeline but you'll find Twitter is not a forgiving place. Especially when you have over 280 thousand followers, you won't get away with a mistake like that one. Screenshots do exist, after all.

It's worth noting the fan's tweet also mentioned "Cam Heyward was running 30 yards downfield to make tackles that the linebackers couldn't make." So perhaps the Steelers' defender didn't mean to drag Tomlin into the mud and just wanted to let fans know he had a decent game himself.

Even if that were the case, why would he do his linebackers like that? It must be frustrating but it can't be of any help putting that out there. You've got to know some of your *checks notes* oh, right, 280 THOUSAND followers are going to see it and it will blow up.

Also, and I'll just say it because it's so obvious… the Tomlin part was FIRST. Are you trying to tell me the guy didn't read that? If it was at the end of the tweet I could be convinced Cam didn't finish reading the tweet. You'd have a tougher time convincing me Heyward reads things backward, to be honest.

Last week, I wrote about having to avoid locker room trouble and while I don't believe this will undo the Steelers as a team, it sheds light on a "no good" situation, to quote Tomlin.

Heyward took to Twitter to indicate that he made a mistake with that last retweet.

"That was a butt retweet," he wrote. Um… is that sarcasm?

Save that for Instagram and the "double tap." In order to retweet something, you've got to click the button, and then Twitter asks you if you want to RT it or quote tweet it. That's a two-step process.

Is Heyward really telling us that was an accident? What a weird coincidence! Heck, it's not even like he was tagged on the tweet!

I'll tell you what. If I was a producer for ESPN's Monday Night Football, this "butt retweet" would go right in the "Come on, man!" segment on tonight's AFC West showdown.

The Butt Fumble. The Butt Punt. The Butt Retweet. Come on, Cam!
