As you may know it, the Chicago Bears pulled off one of the more notable trade deadline transactions yesterday.

The team acquired former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Chase Claypool — a big name leading up to the deadline — for a second round pick.

The move finally gives this offense a pass catching threat outside of Darnell Mooney and gives Luke Getsy an opportunity to give Justin Fields more leeway to throw the football.

As a result of the trade, more positive feedback has been produced surrounding the future outlook of Fields and the Bears.

Like this set of words from NFL.com columnist Jeffri Chadiha, who listed Fields as one of the big winners of the trade deadline due to yesterday's moves.

It's no secret that the Bears need to give their second-year quarterback more help at receiver. The addition of Chase Claypool, formerly of Pittsburgh, should be an immediate upgrade. Claypool was a solid weapon in his first two seasons with the Steelers, but he's only been averaging 9.7 yards per catch this season. He'll find more targets in Chicago and more opportunities to make big plays for a quarterback who now has another supersized weapon to go along with N'Keal Harry.

Chadiha went more in depth of Claypool's skillset and the added benefits it'll bring to t his Bears offense.

Claypool is especially skilled at contested catches. He'll make life much easier for Fields, who's starting to find a comfort zone in the Bears' offense.

This trade was unexpected at the time, but certainly necessary as the Bears attempt to slowly work through their rebuild.

It might take some time, but this trade should prove its benefits sooner rather than later.
