The Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly shopping a couple of their former first-round picks on defense.

EDGE rusher Clelin Ferrell and safety Johnathan Abram are both on the trade block.

Both players have shown some flashes, especially this season. Unfortunately, they just have not been consistent.

Neither have lived up to the Raiders' first-round expectations for them.

The Raiders did not pick up either player's fifth year option prior to this season. That showed that their time in Las Vegas was probably dwindling.

Now, one or both could be moved before this season is over.

The return is difficult to predict. Ferrell has had very little production during his time with the Raiders.

Abram has made a few more impact plays, but younger options at safety may push him out the Raiders' door.

A change of scheme for Ferrell would probably make sense as well. For Abram, a team that needs a downhill safety that mostly plays in the box will probably reach out to the Raiders.

Running back Josh Jacobs is the other first-round pick from that draft class. He has played very well this season and could command a contract that the Raiders are not interested in after the season.

The possibility of the team trading Ferrell and Abram seems to be growing as the trade deadline gets closer.
