CBS Sports doesn't think very highly of the Tennessee Titans after week one of the 2022 NFL season.

Jeff Kerr, an NFL writer for CBS Sports, suggested that Indianapolis Colts are going to win the AFC South after watching the Titans lose to the New York Giants in week one.

Specifically, Kerr said the Colts running away with the division is a "reality".

From CBS Sports:

The Colts are going to run away with the AFC South

Overreaction or reality: Reality

Indianapolis is tied for the AFC South after one week — pun intended. The Colts rallied from a 17-point deficit to tie the Texans in the opener (whom they split the division lead with), a moral victory considering Indianapolis was heading toward an embarrassing loss entering the fourth quarter.

Houston is still a young team, so don't expect the Texans to be in the mix all year. The Jaguars are a better team with Doug Pederson, but find ways to beat themselves and are in the midst of changing the culture of the franchise. The Titans had an inexcusable loss to the Giants at home, going 3-for-11 on third down against a defense that didn't have its top two pass rushers.

Derrick Henry has been held to under 100 rushing yards and no rushing touchdowns in his last three regular-season games played, a player the Titans' offense that's devoid of playmakers needs to show up every week.

Indianapolis avoided a road loss in a division game. Despite the tie, this was a strong finish for the Colts — who are clearly the best team in this poor division.

There's no doubt that Tennessee's loss to the Giants was inexcusable. The Titans are a more talented team and they were playing at home against a first-time NFL head coach.

But at the same time, every team in the NFL is capable of winning on any given Sunday.

And the Giants just did more of the little things right.

But to suggest that the Colts are going to run away with the division after Indianapolis tied a not-so-good Houston Texans team isn't necessarily wise. It's not like the Colts looked dominant.

I think CBS Sports is forgetting that Tennessee had a couple of really bad losses last season, too.

The Titans lost to the lowly New York Jets in overtime and they dropped a late-season game at home to the Texans.

And yet the Titans still went 12-5 and earned the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC.

Perhaps it's a bit early to make wild declarations about the rest of the season. I have a feeling Kerr is going to regret what he wrote this week.
