Just over two months out from the start of 2021 Training Camp, the Tennessee Titans have several positions on their roster that could use a boost.

Specifically, the team needs to add some players to the backend of the depth chart at a handful of positions to provide better competition for roster spots.

Five positions stand out above the rest.

1. Tight End

While the Titans already have their starting tight end in place, barring a trade or big free-agent signing, the team could stand to add better depth behind Anthony Firkser.

Not counting undrafted free agent additions, the Titans have just four tight ends on their roster, and two of them were practice-squad players in 2021.

Tennessee will likely keep four tight ends in 2021, and having the likes of Jared Pinkney and Tommy Hudson as the front-runners for the last two spots would be relatively uninspiring.

An option on the free-agent market that would make sense for depth purposes is a familiar face for the Titans: TE MyCole Pruitt.

2. Kicker

Tucker McCann, the lone kicker on the Titans' roster, is not good enough to be a primary placekicker in the NFL.

Watching him kick in 2020 Training Camp, when he was a rookie free agent, was somewhat brutal. His kicks were so wobbly that it was often difficult to tell whether they went between the uprights.

The Titans simply have to add someone of an NFL caliber to "compete" with McCann. Bringing Stephen Gostkowski back would be a far better alternative to giving McCann the job.

3. Interior Defensive Line

Jeffery Simmons, Denico Autry, Teair Tart and Larrell Murchison will, in all likelihood, get the bulk of defensive line snaps for the Titans in 2021.

The team may keep more than just four interior defensive linemen, though, and its current crop of players at the position behind those four is not great.

As things currently stand, Daylon Mack and Jullian Taylor are the only other IDLs on the roster. The Titans' crop of undrafted free agents will provide a boost to that crop, but the team could stand to do more.

4. Interior Offensive Line

Outside of Aaron Brewer, who did some nice things in a backup role in 2020, the Titans group of depth players on the interior of the offensive line is a bit stale.

Instead of giving players like Daniel Munyer an easy, inside track to making the roster, the Titans need to add competition to make life more difficult for the players fighting at that position.

5. Wide Receiver

The one you've been waiting for!

The Titans' group of wide receivers is problematic in numerous ways, not least of which is the depth at the backend.

If the Titans had to trim their roster tomorrow, Cameron Batson would almost certainly make the cut without any real competition. That should tell you the state of things at the receiver position.

Guys like Cody Hollister and Mason Kinsey may provide some semblance of competition, but it's hard to see either one of them actually challenging for a roster spot.

The Titans really need to add a body or two at receiver.
