NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans (4-2) found a way to knock off the the Buffalo Bills (4-2) on Monday Night Football. In doing so, the NFL saw a more full picture of what Tennessee's offense was projected to be.
Pick your poison, if you will.
National television means the rest of the football world took notice of the Titans success as well. On Tuesday's edition of ESPN's NFL Live, Dan Orlovsky and Ryan Clark dissected two critical plays that gave Tennessee the edge against the Bills in the second half. The fourth-quarter comeback was the ninth of quarterback Ryan Tannehill's career since taking over as the Titans starter in 2016.
Titans clutch passing plays
Tannehill labored early on against Buffalo but found his stride to close out the win. Per WKRN News2's Emily Proud, Tennessee's quarterback completed nine total passes in the first three quarters on Monday night. Tannehill's stat line in the first half was 4-of-12 for 78 yards an interception.
He responded by completing nine consecutive passes in the final frame and finished 18-of-29 for 216 yards in the victory over the Bills.
Beating Buffalo will go down as one of the defining moments of the 2021 Titans season. An offense that was projected to, again, be one of the best in the league has looked disjointed at times due to injuries. Monday's win was the closest Tannehill and Co. have looked to the 2020 unit that scored 30.7 points per game.

"Defenses, you know, you're really going to have to pick your poison," wide receiver Julio Jones said right after being traded to Tennessee in July. "If you want to stay in the box, put nine in the box, right? A guy like Derrick Henry in the backfield, you have to respect him. So then, that's when me and A.J. (Brown) go to work outside."
If the Titans can get on the right side of the injury report, these are the kinds of problems they will regularly present.
