The Tennessee Titans made some bold moves in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Tennessee traded away one of their best players — wide receiver AJ Brown — and they selected their quarterback of the future (at least that's the plan) in Liberty quarterback Malik Wilis.
The Titans also drafted Brown's replacement in the first round by selecting Arkansas wide receiver Treylon Burks (with the pick they received in the deal that sent Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles).

The Titans lost Brown, but they got deeper at other positions thanks to their selections in the draft.
But that didn't keep Tennessee from tumbling in the latest NFL power rankings from Pro Football Network.
In PFN's post-draft power rankings, the Titans came in at No. 17 (which puts them in the "playoff contenders" tier).
From PFN:
Tennessee took a step back during the NFL Draft weekend, allowing the Colts to jump them in the divisional pecking order. While Treylon Burks is a fine receiving prospect, Tennessee hopes he can be 90% of what A.J. Brown is as a receiver right now. Roger McCreary was a fine selection from a talent standpoint, but where does he fit in the secondary? Nicholas Petit-Frere has a very long way to go in his development. Falling into Malik Willis could be the best thing that happened to them, and that’s a future prospect.
Based on these power rankings, PFN doesn't think the Titans will be in the playoffs next season.
I don't think that's fair at all.
This is the team, after all, that was the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC last season (above the Kansas City Chiefs and AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals). Losing Brown hurts, but that's not what made the Titans a playoff team. Tennessee is one of the more complete teams in the NFL as they have a powerful ground game and a solid defense. One player isn't making or breaking the Titans' playoff hopes.
Let's also not forget that Tennessee was a playoff team before Brown's emergence (the team also added wide receiver Robert Woods this offseason via trade). The foundation of the team is still there even without Brown on the roster.
The Titans love proving the national media wrong and they'll certainly have another chance to prove them wrong in 2022.
