Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill has dealt with a lot of criticism this offseason.
Most of it centered around the untimely interception he threw against the Cincinnati Bengals that essentially ended the Titans' season.
The interception was undoubtedly bad, but it was just one play. It shouldn't necessarily define Tannehill as a quarterback.
While there's no doubt that Tannehill took a step back last season — the numbers don't lie (he had the lowest QB rating of his career since 2015) — there are still plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the Titans signal caller.
AtoZ Sports' James Foster's latest film breakdown (subscribe to the AtoZ Sports Film Room YouTube channel for fresh daily breakdowns) does a great job of showing how Tannehill has improved while facing pressure.
That video shows how several of Tannehill's throws last season were on the money despite facing intense pressure. Receivers dropping passes or offensive linemen blowing assignments isn't Tannehill's fault — there's only so much he can do as a quarterback.
Tannehill needs to be better in 2022, but all of the struggles last season weren't necessarily on him. He did some good things. And Foster's breakdown does a good job of giving Tannehill credit for some nice plays that didn't have the desired results.
