The Tennessee Vols are the program to beat for a 2022 three-star defensive lineman from Georgia.

Quentel Jones, 6-foot-3/285 lbs from Fort Valley, GA (Peach County), is rated by 247Sports as the No. 30 defensive tackle in the nation and the No. 33 player in the state of Georgia.

Jones recently spoke to VolQuest about his recruitment and he made it clear that Tennessee is his top school.

"I have a couple of more schools that are my top schools, but I’m pretty much done," said Jones. "I have two others, but Tennessee is really my top school.”

The Georgia native said his relationship with Vols defensive line coach Rodney Garner is one of the main reasons UT is his top school.

"I love Coach Garner,” explained Jones. “He’s a great guy and he makes defensive lineman. I know that he would be a coach that will get me to where I want to go."

Jones, who also holds offers from Arkansas, Miami, and Wisconsin, among several others, is scheduled to visit Tennessee on June 25. The three-star defensive lineman also has official visits scheduled in June to see Georgia Tech and Wisconsin.

The Vols currently have four players committed to their 2022 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 39 in the nation.
