It's no secret that the Green Bay Packers could use another wide receiver.

Specifically, they could use a true No. 1 wide receiver to replace Davante Adams, who was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders earlier this offseason.

Help could be on the way for Green Bay, but maybe not until after the 2022 season.

The Athletic's Mark Kaboly, who covers the Pittsburgh Steelers for the national sports media outlet, predicted in his weekly mailbag this week that Pro-Bowl wide receiver Diontae Johnson, who will be a free agent after the season, will sign with Green Bay next spring.

"He (Johnson) will sign with the Packers next year for $93 million over four years," wrote Kaboly.

Johnson, a third-round selection by the Steelers in the 2019 NFL Draft, is coming off his best season.

The former Toledo standout caught 107 passes for 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns last season while playing with an aging Ben Roethlisberger.

Imagine what he could do with Aaron Rodgers?!?!

Of course, that's assuming Rodgers sticks around in Green Bay for another season. Maybe adding a receiver like Johnson would convince him to play one more season (or more, a la Tom Brady).

There's one thing to note with a potential signing of Johnson. If the Steelers believe he's not going to re-sign in Pittsburgh, then they'll likely franchise tag him next spring and then trade him (just like the Packers did with Adams).

That could complicate the chances of Green Bay acquiring Johnson. It could be dependent on how much they're willing to give up to land the talented wide receiver.

There are a lot of things that can happen between now and next spring, but this could be an interesting saga to watch unfold.
