For all things considered, the Dallas Cowboys offensive line has held up well. Injuries to starting left tackle Tyron Smith and left guard Connor McGovern forced the team to play young and unproven players on the blindside.

Tyler Smith and Matt Farniok have both displayed plenty of power, while still showing some faults. Despite that, the pair have played well enough that there hasn't been any rush to play veteran Jason Peters.

The future Hall of Famer was signed following the injury to Tyron Smith, with the expectation he could play left tackle. However, in practices he has been practicing at left guard and right tackle. Uncertain of where exactly he will play.

The answers re about to come and Peters will finally make his Dallas debut.

While Peters will play, the coaching staff is still getting him warmed up for the season.

It's not believed he will start, but will rotate snaps with Farniok at guard, similar to how the coaching staff used Terence Steele and La'el Collins in 2021 after Collins returned from suspension.

While head coach Mike McCarthy and offensive line coach Joe Philbin preach continuity on the offensive line, after the confusing musical chairs they played in 2021.

Peters might not necessarily take the starting job from Farniok, but if he's the better option, it's clear. The Dallas Cowboys can't afford to waste his experience and leadership as well as if he's the better option. Play the best five.

If Peters is among that group, it needs to stay that way. Tonight, we will have our answer.
