ESPN simulation has Dallas Cowboys landing future Hall of Famer in free agency

There's a good chance the Dallas Cowboys have to replace both of their starting edge rushers from the 2021 season.
Randy Gregory is set to hit free agency, where he'll likely find a more lucrative contract outside of Dallas.
Demarcus Lawrence, meanwhile, is a candidate to be released (his dead cap hit with a post 6/1 release would only be $8 million, freeing up $19 million in salary cap space). Lawrence has declined to take a pay cut, so it's easy to see a scenario where the longtime Cowboy isn't in Dallas next season.
If both of those players are gone, it will be imperative for the Cowboys to address the edge rusher position in free agency and the draft.
Pursuing Khalil Mack in a trade with the Chicago Bears could've been a shrewd move by the Cowboys, considering the Los Angeles Chargers didn't give up much to get him. But that move would've been accompanied by significant cap hits in 2023 and 2024. I can understand why Dallas ultimately decided to not get involved in those talks.
One option in free agency that would raise some eyebrows around the league would be to sign free agent edge rusher Von Miller, a former Super Bowl MVP who is Canton-bound.

Miller turns 33 later this month, but he still has plenty left in the tank.
The eight-time Pro-Bowler was traded in the middle of the 2021 season from the Denver Broncos to the Los Angeles Rams. In his final eight games of the season (with the Rams), Miller totaled five sacks. In the playoffs, Miller compiled four sacks in four games. He's a player that shows up under the bright lights. And we know the lights are always bright in Dallas.
This is an option that could be attractive to both sides. The Cowboys would get a game-changing edge rusher, while Miller could finish his career in Dallas (which is where he's from).
ESPN free agency simulator predicts Dallas Cowboys will sign Von Miller
Earlier this week, ESPN did a simulation of free agency, based on teams who could make offers for top available players.
For Miller, they have the Cowboys, Rams, and Seahawks making offers. They have Miller going with a 2 year deal worth $30 million from the Cowboys (fully guaranteed). The offer from the Rams is a higher AAV, but it's less guaranteed money.
With uncertain futures of Randy Gregory, who is set to be a free agent, and DeMarcus Lawrence, who has refused a pay cut, Miller can be the perfect pass-rushing complement to Micah Parsons and serve as a mentor to the burgeoning star, similar to the way DeMarcus Ware was for Miller in Denver. This would be out of the Cowboys' recent character in free agency, where they have been low-money shoppers, but Miller remains a top-end pass-rusher and would thrive in Dan Quinn's scheme.
Trading/releasing wide receiver Amari Cooper, and also moving on from Lawrence, could allow this move to be a reality for the Cowboys.
There aren't many things more important in football than getting after the quarterback. Investing in a potentially dominant pass rusher is never a bad idea.
