Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons wants to see a major rule change come to the NFL in 2022.

Parsons told PFT Live this week that he wants roughing the passer calls to be reviewable.

“I think some of these flags that they throw should be reviewable," said Parsons. "I hate that that’s not reviewable. Because those cost games.”

“I will never play dirty. That’s not part of my game. I hate dirty players,” added Parsons.

The rookie linebacker was the victim of a particularly egregious roughing the passer penalty in the Cowboys' Thanksgiving Day loss to the Las Vegas Raiders this season.

Las Vegas quarterback Derek Carr basically fell into Parsons' knee and Parsons was hit with a roughing the passer penalty.

That obviously wasn't roughing the passer. The Raiders got a free 15 yards, which eventually led to a touchdown.

I think Parsons is on to something here. Though I think the major concern would be making the games even longer with more reviews. Another concern is how are these challenged?

To speed things up, I propose having an official in the press box that's immediately watching replays and various angles. He can make the call from the box — not the referee on the field. That way the flag is never thrown until the penalty is confirmed from up top.

It shouldn't take long to make that call. It's already a subjective call so it's not a perfect process, but it would certainly eliminate some of the bad calls like the one that went against Parsons.
