One of the best pieces of news the Dallas Cowboys have received this offseason has been the decision by defenisve coordinator Dan Quinn to return.
Quinn interviewed for numerous head coaching jobs, but he decided to return to Dallas before all of the openings had been filled. That tells us that Quinn decided to return because he believes in the Cowboys, not because he couldn't get a job (Quinn definitely could've had a job — he did a tremendous job with the Dallas defense in 2021 and he's very popular among players).
Based on comments from Dallas linebacker Micah Parsons, it sounds like Quinn was never even considering leaving the Cowboys this offseason.

Quinn told Parsons right after the Cowboys' loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the playoffs that he wasn't going anywhere.
“After the game, I said, ‘Man, if you leave, I understand, but I hope you stay,’” said Parsons to ESPN this week. “He said, ‘Brother, somebody’s going to have to knock me out to leave your side. We’re going to rock this thing out.’”
I'm guessing Quinn interviewed for jobs just to continue making connections in the NFL (and I'm sure he will be a head coach again one day).
But it's clear that Quinn believes the Cowboys have the potential to do something special in 2022.
The Dallas defense has unreal chemistry right now. With Quinn back, the Cowboys should be a dominant force defensively in the NFC next season.
