Per ESPN's Field Yates, the Chicago Bears waived long snapper Antonio Ortiz Wednesday once the trade for former Patriots wide receiver N'Keal Harry was made official.

The Bears had to make move because as of right now and until the first round of roster cuts on August 26, NFL rosters have a 90-man limit. The Bears roster sat at 91 players once the Harry trade was completed.

The Bears signed Ortiz on May 9 after the team held tryouts during their rookie minicamp. He was TCU's long snapper from 2018-2021, playing in 44 games across the span of his career. Ortiz was also a semifinalist for last year's Patrick Mannelly Award, which is college football's award for the nation's top long snapper.
