Coaching hires are being made left and right around the NFL. Fortunately for the Dallas Cowboys, both defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore are staying put in the DFW.

Newly hired head coaches are working to fill out their coaching staffs in advance of the upcoming free agency and the draft process. The New York Giants of the NFC East is one team that made a coaching move that will impact the Cowboys.

The Giants hired Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Bill Daboll to run the show in The Empire State. Daboll is known as a top offensive mind and is credited for his work in the development of Josh Allen.

Because Daboll is an offensive mind, his defensive coordinator hire is crucial. Daboll opted to go with a veteran defensive mind to complement his staff.

Former Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Don "Wink" Martindale was hired to run the defense in the Big Apple. Martindale has had lots of success in the NFL. However, there is an area where this could be an advantage for the Cowboys.

WHY GIANTS DC HIRE IS A POSITIVE FOR COWBOYS

New York hiring Martindale can be viewed as a positive for the Dallas Cowboys.

The veteran defensive mind is well-known for his aggressive style of nature and coaching. Several of his defenses in Baltimore were among the league leaders in blitz rate. Martindale defenses love sending extra defenders to get after the quarterback.

That, of course, plays right into the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott's hands. Prescott has made a career out of torching defenses when they blitz. He is among the best in the league in dissecting defenses and knows how to get the ball out quickly in those situations.

The Giants were right around league average in blitz rate during the Joe Judge era. That will certainly change during the Daboll tenure with Martindale set to call the defense. Look for New York to implement a scheme that puts pressure on opponents' passing games.

While that is not a bad strategy on the surface, it will be interesting to see how that works against a quarterback, such as Prescott, that has had lots of success against it. Leaving Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb in man coverage is a bold move.

In fact, many teams went against playing the Cowboys that way this past season. Instead, Dallas saw looks that had the defense drop more defenders into coverage rather than blitzing. That caused issues for the Cowboys' otherwise high-powered offense.

Nonetheless, Brian Daboll continues to build his coaching staff with the New York Giants. Dallas should have opportunities to exploit the newest defensive coordinator in the NFC East thanks to Prescott.
