Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is considered among the league's best by some, and overrated by others. The general consensus among analysts is that he's a top 10, franchise QB in this league.
He is coming off a record-setting season, where he lead the Cowboys to an NFC East title, despite the team seemingly falling off in the second half of the season. Despite this, he finished among the league leaders in passing yards, touchdowns and completion percentage in 16 games.
There are plenty of positive signs in and outside the Dallas Cowboys to give confidence to fans. Vegas is giving him good odds to win the NFL MVP, he is showing much better mobility in practice and is creating a repour with young receivers while the primary weapons are sitting out.
It makes sense that many have confidence in the Dallas Cowboys signal caller. Including the analysts at NFL.com.
In a recent podcast, hosted by analysts Gregg Rosenthal, Dan Hanzus, Patrick Claybon and Marc Sessler, they examined the top QBs in the league. Not including players entering their second year, rookies or Deshaun Watson. Prescott comes in at seventh.

The Dalton Scale, named after Andy Dalton, describes which QB's fall above, at and below the QB prime meridian.
If the QB ranks below Dalton, the franchise needs a new QB. QBs ranked above mean they're team is fine and can win with the player. Any QBs at Meridian level could go either way.
Prescott being named alongside players like Joe Burrow, Russell Wilson and Lamar Jackson is a huge compliment to his skillset, and where professionals truly believe he is as a player.
And when considering he's above a former league MVP in Jackson and reigning Super Bowl champ Matthew Stafford, it makes Prescott's appearance even more impressive.
If the scale is true to its form, the Dallas Cowboys have the key to making continual postseason runs. While this scale is not the end-all, be-all of QB scales, it shows how far up he really is among the leagues best.
His return from injury, despite the uneven season is a step in the right direction. With key additions to the receiving core and offensive line, Prescott will need to continue his high level of play.
